I’m writing to voice my displeasure of the change to 40 minute cycles from 30 minutes. I proudly rely on public transit, because of how it points to my personal commitment to sustainability and reduce emissions in our environment. However, the change to 40 minutes is really inconvenient for me and had a major impact […]

Public transit concerns
Public transit systems are incredibly important to a thriving and equitable community, and we have come to rely on, and trust in the transit system in our lovely city. There are countless positive memories that we have individually [and even collectively] had while using Guelph Transit, and we hope that this continues.
GTC system
On Wednesday I had an appointment down on Gordon and Kortright. I love to walk, and I did, 45 minutes there and 53 minutes back (getting tired pushing my son’s stroller). The time I left my house would have been the same time I would have had to leave to catch the bus downtown. I […]
City to form committee to explore transit
City staff will begin developing terms of reference for an ad-hoc subcommittee that will make recommendations about transit issues. The recommendation to do so came from the Emergency Services, Community Services & Operations (ECO) Committee at their September 12 meeting.
Grade 10 student’s concerns about Guelph Transit
I find myself extremely disappointed with the recent developments in the transit system. The change from 30 to 40-minute intervals earlier this month created a huge problem for my daily transportation to and from school. With the newly implemented 40-minute intervals, there is only one bus in the morning between 8 and 9 AM that […]
City of Guelph bus system
Basically I am writing to you to-day in an effort to push for a review of the decision made to change the bus schedule from 30 to 40 minutes during peak times of the day. I have written to you in the past expressing this view, however now that an increase in the cost of […]
Idling buses in St. George’s square
In response to a number of questions relating to the City of Guelph’s policy on buses idling in the square downtown, Transit staff have provided this clarification: The anti-idling policy at Transit Services states that “Guelph Transit drivers are required to shut off their buses while waiting at a transfer point, while on a layover […]
When’s the next bus? 40 minutes!!
I am clearly irate about reducing bus services. Please explain how reducing the service benefits me? or perhaps it is just a way to pay for the ridiculous bus stop number service. By the way while researching the new implemented bus stop number, you really did not have to get advice from any American city…You […]
Better bus service please!
A quick note to urge you to keep the buses running at current intervals-not the 40 minutes being discussed. I agree with the local citizen who proposed 15 minute intervals during rush hour, and I believe that 40 minutes is a step backwards for transit useability. BS
Guelph Transit’s 40 minute decision
The following correspondence has been provided by Guelph Transit Services (GTS): “GTS will proceed with our plans to move to a 40 minute frequency during peak periods however Mayor Farbridge has indicated this issue would be discussed at the September 12 meeting of the Emergency, Community and Operations Committee. Our Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) equipment, […]
